Rev. Jason P. Tucker

Jason's Background Jason is a 36 year old graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary, where he received his Master of Divinity degree on May 23, 2009. He followed God's call to the pastorate after serving for 17 years (both at the congregational and national level) in youth and music ministry. By his estimation, he was driven nearly 30,000 miles in church vans full of teenagers -- and sometimes shudders inadvertently at the words, "lock-in." Jason's parents sometimes dabbled in Christianity, but it wasn't until he was 19 years old that his life was forever changed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ, while working as a counselor at a PC(USA) camp in the Poconos. His camp experience changed everything, and it was there that he felt God's call to ministry -- a call that eventually led him to seminary and to Avenel. As a seminary student, he was the recipient of: The Frederick Neumann Award for Excellence in Greek and Hebrew, The Raymond Irving Lindquist Fellowship in the Parish Ministry, The John T. Galloway Award in Expository Preaching, and The David B. Watermulder Award in Church Leadership. His wife, Karin, constantly reminds him that he is a nerd. Jason and Karin have two children. The Tucker family is excited about this new chapter of ministry and look forward to faithfully serving Avenel in the years to come. A Glimpse of Jason's Experience
