YOUTH MINISTRY at the First Presbyterian Church of Avenel

YOUTH FELLOWSHIP GROUPS

Our Youth Fellowship Groups offer youth a place to be themselves, meet and make new friends, explore their unique God-given gifts, learn about God's role in their lives, and choose, nurture and grow in faith.

NEW!!!
There will be 2 age groups on Sundays from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Bullfrogs and Butterflies for Kindergarten through 5th Grade
Youth Fellowship Group for 6th Grade through 12th Grade

The boys and girls will meet in the Christian Education Building, and family membership in our church is not a requirement. Anyone is welcome to join us -- and bring a friend!

A typical meeting starts with hanging out/playing in the gym. We then gather in Jacob Morgan Hall where we share thoughts and feelings, have a devotion and discussion, and plan for future activities. The 2 groups will share a snack/meal and then meet separately for the activities.

This is a personal invitation for you to join our group. Come be a part of our devotions time, prayer time, gym time, hanging out time, and fun and fellowship time as you grow closer to our Lord.

YOUTH DIRECTOR

Our Youth Director is Lauryn Schrock.  Lauryn is currently a third-year M.Div student at Princeton Theological Seminary.  She grew up in Denver, Colorado but made Seattle, Washington her home as an adult.  She has a B.A. in Psychology and a B.A. in Communication from Seattle Pacific University.  She loves working with youth and has experience working with youth in foster care, youth that are recovering addicts, and has led a high school youth group while in Washington full time.  In her spare time, you can find her making lattes or playing guitar.    Lauryn is looking forward to this year at Avenel Presbyterian Church, and we are so blessed to have such a spiritual and energetic young person lead our youth.
